Downregulation of MAP1LC3B expression has also been reported in human rhabdomyosarcoma and medulloblastoma cancer cells transfected with a siRNA targeting GLI1 expression [54].In this present report, we bring additional understanding of the upstream molecular events that link autophagy induction to the persistent downregulation of MAP1LC3 gene expression, with the discovery that ULK3-dependent activation of GLI1 contributes to the transcriptional upregulation of DNMT3A gene expression upon autophagy induction. This evidence concerns the gene MAP1LC3B and rhabdomyosarcoma.
