In a recent report of Shiriziad et al. that examined variables associated with prescription of renin-angiotensin system blockers in patients with CKD, the authors reported that 36% of patients with moderate to severe CKD and indication for RAASi therapy were not prescribed renin-angiotensin system blockade, and that the most common documented reasons were hyperkalemia and history of acute kidney injury (21). Here, REN is linked to chronic kidney disease.
