A recent study, evaluating circulating inflammatory T-cell phenotypes and its association with adverse LV remodeling post-TAVI, assumed a possible role of IL-10, produced by T-cells, as an anti-inflammatory mediator, which improves cardiac function via activating fibroblasts which has a beneficial effect in the early injury phase, whereas long-term chronic activation of fibroblasts increases myocardial fibrosis resulting in adverse remodeling and functional decline (24). Here, IL10 is linked to Myocardial fibrosis.
