IL27 and rheumatoid arthritis: Altogether, these reports suggest that, despite the antiviral properties of IL27 and its ability to control CHIKV replication, persistent production of IL27 could be associated with induction of persistent STAT1-dependent pro-inflammatory response, leads to joint pain and arthralgias in CHIKV-infected patients, suggesting that IL27 signaling pathway could be a good therapeutic target to control the chronic symptoms of CHIKF in CHIKV-infected patients, and the inflammation and joint pain in Rheumatoid arthritis patients.
