We hypothesized that the prevalence of increased serum Lp(a) will be higher in FH patients, which can be associated with higher risk of atherosclerotic vascular complications including cardiovascular (CAD), cerebrovascular (CeVD) and peripheral arterial diseases (PAD), aortic valve stenosis (AoS), and might also be associated with the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The gene discussed is LPA; the disease is peripheral arterial disease.
