Low doses of DPD (5 and 10 mg/kg/day) did not improved anemia, but the highest dose (15 mg/kg/day) efficiently corrected anemia in CKD mice, resulting in normalized Hb concentration, RBC count, and hematocrit levels similar to the controls with normal renal function (Figures 4F–H). The gene discussed is GSTM1; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
