Combined lysis of thrombus with ultrasound and systemic tPA for emergent revascularization in acute ischemic stroke (CLOTBUST-ER), an international four-center phase II trial, demonstrated that in patients with acute ischemic stroke, transcranial ultrasound augments tPA-induced arterial recanalization with a non-significant trend toward an increased rate of clinical recovery from stroke, compared with the control group. Here, PLAT is linked to stroke disorder.
