BV inhibits cancer cells growing also due to the activation of caspase 3 and 9 pathways and inhibition of NF-κB pathway signaling, leading to inhibition of the expression of proliferative and antiapoptotic genes encoding Bcl-2, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), cellular inhibitor of apoptosis 2 (cIAP-2), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2) (Park et al., 2014). Here, CASP3 is linked to cancer.
