Other characteristics such as tumor size and lymph node status have been associated with PD-L1 positivity.68 Overall, 47.3% (114/241) of all PD-L1–positive specimens were of the diffuse cancer subtype; this finding is in line with a retrospective study that reported an association between the diffuse type GC and PD-L1 positivity, indicating that histological characteristics should be considered when selecting patients who may benefit from anti–PD-L1 therapy.69 The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is gastric cancer.
