CRYL1 and central nervous system cancer: Taken the different conclusions into consideration, most of the literature and our data suggest that cry is upregulated in glioma cells and promotes glioma progression; however, the role of cry expression in Drosophila, or cry1/2 expression in mammals, may differ according to the glioma subtype, the specific mutations in glioma cells and the cell population of study within the glioma and the hour of the day.
