Increased production of IL-1β has been reported to be associated with several autoinflammatory disorders [26] while IL-6 is linked with the pathogenesis of a number of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, multiple sclerosis, anaemia, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease [27]. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
