HTR2B and Anorexia: In a study by Takeda et al. [45], a single intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin induced a decrease in 6 h food intake in rats; however, the administration of 5-HT2B or 5-HT2C receptor antagonists (i.p.)attenuated the decrease in food intake, indicating that the activation of 5-HT receptors plays an important role in the development of cisplatin-induced anorexia.
