Upon infection with blood-stage malaria, the Itga2b transcript levels increased and reached their maximum levels of approximately 57 at peak parasitaemia on day 8 p.i. Protective vaccination did not significantly affect Itga2b expression in response to blood-stage malaria, neither the constitutive expression nor the increase in malaria-induced expression in comparison with unvaccinated mice. This evidence concerns the gene ITGA2B and infection.
