CRP and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Michael’s Hospital (Toronto, Canada) on patients with type 2 diabetes showed that daily intake of 15 g/1000 kcal of S. hispanica seeds for 12 weeks resulted in a statistically significant reduction in the level of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP, by 40%) as well as in the level of von Willebrand factor (by 21%), a component of blood involved in clotting.
