AKT1 and leukemia: A mechanistic based study conducted by Chou et al., revealed that anticancerous effects of C. militaris on leukemia cell lines might be attributed to activation of AKT and p38 mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK), during the course of apoptosis induction, suggesting the possible use of its extracts against leukemia by activating the p38 MAPK pathway [91].
