After the initial conceptualization of RDS by Blum in 1995, Blum et al., using the Bayesian Theorem [34], found that carriers of the DRD2 A1 allele had a predictive value (PV) for any future RDS behaviors, such as substance use disorder (SUD), obesity, and shopping addiction, that reached 74.4% [34]. The gene discussed is DRD2; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
