IGHE and asthma: Omalizumab is currently suggested in patients aged six years or older with difficult-to-treat to severe persistent allergic asthma according to the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines, who fulfill one or more of the following criteria: sensitization to inhaled allergen(s) on a skin prick testing or specific IgE.; and body weight within a local dosing range, and more than a specified number of exacerbations within the last year, despite a daily high dose of inhaled corticosteroids, plus a long-acting inhaled beta2-agonist [1,8,9].
