The molecular mechanisms associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection involves an increase in inflammation, leading to an increase in cytokines (cytokine storm) in patients with COVID-19 [30], mainly manifested by an increase in interleukin IL-2, IL-7, INFγ, and TNFα, leading to suppression of NF-kB activity, resulting in decreased expression of COX-2 [31]. Here, NFKB1 is linked to COVID-19.
