ERFE and Insulin resistance: In the study by Little et al., when myonectin-deficient mice were administered a high-fat diet (HFD), they exhibited features associated with insulin resistance, had more elevated post-prandial very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) and triglycerides (TG) levels, significantly increased fat mass (both visceral and subcutaneous fat depots), and, surprisingly, decreased liver steatosis, in comparison to control wild type (WT) litter-mates which were also administered HFD [70].
