Individuals with hypertension show a higher risk of being diagnosed with PCa [28] and the use of calcium-channel-blockers has been associated with an increased incidence of this tumor [29]: it is hypothesized that these drugs promote carcinogenesis by affecting the normal function of Cav3.1 channels which contribute to tumor repression and apoptosis promotion [29].
