A number of studies have identified the underlying mechanisms of RACGAP1 upregulation in HCC: ECT2 interacts and co-localizes with RACGAP1 and protects RACGAP1 from degradation; and, RACGAP1 promotes ECT2-mediated RhoA activation and metastasis in HCC cells [40].
