Since SLC7A8 has not been described in the context of obesity or adipogenesis, the aim of this study was to investigate the functional role of SLC7A8 in weight gain/obesity and lipid accumulation in various tissues and organs (such as perigonadal, mesenteric, inguinal subcutaneous, and interscapular brown adipose tissues and the liver, kidneys, heart, brain, lungs, and gastrocnemius muscle) using a mouse model of diet-induced obesity. This evidence concerns the gene SLC7A8 and obesity disorder.
