NFKB1 and cancer: PC-3 and MDA-MB-231 cancer cell lines were tested in vitro in the absence and presence of lycopene at concentrations of 0.5–5 μM. MTS cell growth assays, Western blots, and NF-κB-responsive gene activation reporter assays showed that lycopene inhibits the NF-kB pathway at different stages in both cell lines.
