Here, we have reviewed: (1) the protective effect of eosinophilia during the initial presentation of the disease; (2) prognostic marker values associated with acute disease stages including various interleukins, CRP, PCT, as well as lymphopenia, neutrophilia, and other end-organ damage markers; and (3) recovery hallmarks of hematological neutralization and decreased cytokine levels. This evidence concerns the gene CALCA and lymphopenia.
