Genome-wide association studies have revealed a functional single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the ITPKC gene, encoding inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase C, whose role is to negatively regulate T-cell activation through the calcium signaling pathway, which is associated with susceptibility to KD [18,19] and coronary artery aneurysms [20]. The gene discussed is ITPKC; the disease is coronary aneurysm.
