The AT-Rich Interaction Domain 5B (ARID5B) gene encodes a member of the AT-rich interaction domain (ARID) family of DNA binding proteins and methylation of ARID5B prevents inflammation and progression and development of atherosclerosis by inhibiting the ox-LDL/PI3K/Akt/NF-κB pathway [69]. Here, AKT1 is linked to atherosclerosis.
