PDE8A and B are expressed widely in human tissue [27], with functions identified in steroidogenesis [28], lymphocyte adhesion, and chemotaxis [13,16,21,23,29], and a strong association with immune protection against intracellular pathogens [30], brain disorders associated with inflammation [31], and T cells in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) [32]. Here, PDE8A is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
