It was found that seven major signaling pathways are commonly upregulated in ovarian cancers (> 50%): the PI3K/AKT/mTOR, Jak/STAT, Src, lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), NF-κB, PKCι, and Mullerian inhibitory substance receptor signaling pathways have shown high levels of mutation and/or hyperactivation strongly associated with aggressive phenotypes and advanced disease stages, leading to poor prognosis for the disease [4,22].
