Scholars have found four genes that might be related to COPD using WES in 49 families with COPD: DNAH8, ALCAM, RARS, and GBF1. The main populations they studied were Caucasian and African Americans (Regan et al., 2010; Qiao et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene RARS1 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
