In a study conducted by Yokoyama et al., it was revealed that secretoglobin 3A2 was capable of inhibiting growth of human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and colorectal cancer (CRC) cells in the mouse metastasis model by means of the caspase-4-mediated non-canonical pyroptosis pathway (79). The gene discussed is CASP4; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
