CD8A and cancer: CD4+ responses to a range of NY-ESO-1peptides have been assessed in cancer patients.129 NY-ESO-1 peptide 80–109 (LLEFYLAMPFAT) wasfound to be the most immunogenic, although other 12-mer peptides alsoelicited a T-cell response.129 A phaseI trial of a vaccine for NY-ESO-1 related cancers was performed onpatients with esophageal cancer, non-small-cell lung cancer, and gastriccancer.335 The 20-mer peptide YLAMPFATPMEAELARRSL(NY-ESO-1, 91–110) which incorporates multiple epitopes recognizedby CD4+ and CD8+ cells, as well as antibodies, was used together with adjuvant.
