MTHFR and hypertensive disorder: Evidence from both the GWAS (Lu et al., 2015) and epidemiological studies (Amenyah et al., 2020; Ji et al., 2019) suggests that MTHFR gene polymorphisms are associated with the risk of developing hypertension, but polymorphisms at the C677T and A1298C loci of the MTHFR gene are not consistent in all populations.
