Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the major form of dementia, and the accumulation of amyloid-β (Aβ) and Tau in Aβ plaques and neurofibrillary tangles (NFT), respectively, are pathological hallmarks of AD; however, Tau pathology correlates better with the cognitive decline associated with AD2. Here, MAPT is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
