We elucidated the role of DRAK1 as a tumor suppressor in cervical cancer and recent studies showed that induction of DRAK1 expression reduced the cell growth in testicular and prostrated cancer cells [29, 30], whereas other reports suggest that DRAK1 promotes tumorigenic potential in head and neck cancer and glioblastoma cells [13, 31, 32]. The gene discussed is STK17A; the disease is cervical cancer.
