JAK1 and neoplasm: Expression of genes related to antigen presentation (TAP1, TAP2, and B2M) or IFN-γ signaling (JAK1, JAK2, and IFNGR2) can protect tumor cells from NK cells, while JAK1-deficient melanoma cells regulate expression of MHC-I by attenuating the IFN-γ-driven transcription events of NK cells, sensitizing the cells to NK cell-mediated killing.
