The total protein, WBC, and CRP value were not significantly different between IPA patients and noninfectious iliopsoas mass patients (6.7 vs. 7.0 (p = 0.52), 9.0 vs. 13.4 (p = 0.36), and 10854 vs. 6950 (p = 0.27), respectively); however, the albumin level was significantly lower in IPA patients, compared with noninfectious iliopsoas mass patients (2.9 vs. 3.7, respectively; p = 0.04) (Table 1 and Figure 2), which indicates undernutrition in IPA patients.
