AQP3 is the aquaglyceroporin most implicated in tumorigenesis, being aberrantly overexpressed in cancers of different origin, such as skin cancer (Hara-Chikuma and Verkman, 2008c), colon (Zhang et al., 2020), lung (Liu Y. L. et al., 2007), liver (Chen et al., 2018) and pancreatic cancer (Direito et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene AQP3 and skin neoplasm.
