In the last 20 years, chromosome 9 open reading frame 72 (C9ORF72), Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD1), TAR DNA-binding protein 43 (TARDBP), and fused in sarcoma/translated in liposarcoma (FUS) have been revealed as the most commonly mutated genes in ALS (Julien et al., 2001; Mathis, et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and liposarcoma.
