Because miR-92a inhibition and SOCS3 overexpression were both demonstrated to repress the self-renewal and growth of CRC CSC cells, and miR-92a could bind and negatively regulate SOSC3, we speculated that SOCS3 might be involved in the tumorigenesis of CRC by acting downstream of miR-92a. The gene discussed is SOCS3; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
