There is significantly higher epithelial FSCN1 expression and microvessel count in high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions than in cervical tissues with chronic inflammation (Hou et al., 2009; Kabukcuoglu et al., 2005), and these increases may be a marker of increased invasive potential in high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (Koay, Crook & Stewart, 2014). Here, FSCN1 is linked to squamous cell intraepithelial neoplasia.
