Considering the important role of M1/M2 macrophage and Th1/Th2 cell balance in inflammation and atherosclerosis, we hypothesized that the ARCR herb pair protected against atherosclerosis by regulating the M1/M2 and Th1/Th2 immune balance via activation of the STAT6 signaling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene STAT6 and atherosclerosis.
