After the intervention treatment with doxofylline, total white blood cell count in BALF and the concentrations of IL-8 and TNF-α in BALF and pulmonary tissues in group D were significantly lower, while the concentration of IL-10 was significantly higher, than in group N, indicating that doxofylline could reduce the pulmonary inflammatory response during mechanical ventilation in rats with COPD. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
