After the intervention treatment with doxofylline, total white blood cell count in BALF and the concentrations of IL-8 and TNF-α in BALF and pulmonary tissues in group D were significantly lower, while the concentration of IL-10 was significantly higher, than in group N, indicating that doxofylline could reduce the pulmonary inflammatory response during mechanical ventilation in rats with COPD. Here, CXCL8 is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
