The subjects in the MetS group had significantly higher fasting plasma glucose, serum insulin, triglyceride, uric acid, creatinine, ALT, AST level, and white blood cell count; their HDL-c, adiponectin, and eGFR were lower; and their total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) were comparable with those of the non-MetS group. This evidence concerns the gene INS and metabolic syndrome.
