CD8A and neoplasm: Our findings that associate high expression of these pathways and elevated CD8 immune infiltrates with improved survival is consistent with previous studies48–51 and is expected as our 08–13 cohort was mostly treated with adjuvant anthracycline-taxane regimens which are known to induce immunogenic tumor cell death via release of cancer antigens and activation of antigen presenting cells sensitizing these tumors to the immune system52.
