Reading again the 10 included studies, six of which analyzed the sensitivity and specificity of CRP and ESR for the diagnosis of PJI [12, 15, 19–21, 23], the sensitivity and specificity of CRP, ESR and D-dimer for the diagnosis of PJI were compared in these six studies, and it was found that CRP, ESR and D-dimer were more sensitive and specific for the diagnosis of PJI than CRP,ESR and D-dimer. This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and juvenile polyposis syndrome.
