This pool of DEGs included targets with reported functions in pain, such as thrombospondin 1 (Thbs1), a secreted glycoprotein involved in inflammatory responses;38–40H19, a long non-coding RNA recently linked to the development of neuropathic pain;41 myelin protein zero (Mpz), which has been linked to neuropathy;42 and periaxin (Prx), which is associated with neuropathic pain43. This evidence concerns the gene PRX and neuropathy.
