Natural polyphenols are known to play a role in prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer due to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant functions through inactivation of NF-κB signaling leading to the reduction of the secretion of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL1β, IL-6 and IL-12 as well as inactivation of PI3K/AKT and β-catenin signaling leading to the inhibition of cell division [35,36]. Here, TNF is linked to colorectal cancer.
