According to a meta-analysis [208] which analyzed 170 studies, there was an increase in inflammatory blood markers such as IL-1β, IL-6, soluble TNF receptor 1 (sTNFR1), soluble TNF receptor 2 (sTNFR2), alpha1-antichymotrypsin (α1-ACT), C reactive protein, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), soluble CD40 ligand, soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (sTREM2), CSF levels of IL-10, transforming growth factor-beta 1, chitinase-3-like protein 1 (YKL-40), α1-ACT, NGF and visinin-like protein-1 (VILIP-1) in the AD group compared to healthy controls.
