FTH1 and Parkinson disease: Brain sections from basal ganglia (thalamus, globus pallidus, and putamen) from control and PD subjects when stained with monoclonal FTH, surprisingly, globus pallidus and putamen appeared loaded with small vesicles (Figure 4E,F) and on higher magnification it appeared like inclusions within the striosome-matrix compartments (Figure 4G–I).
