Taurine (50 mg/kg i.v, at 4 h, for 3 days) reduced the infarct size versus saline at 4 h after the induced stroke, while the combined treatment with taurine (given at the same time-dose) and delayed tPA (10 mg/kg, at 6 h) was more effective than tPA therapy alone (10 mg/kg, at 2 h).
